Indiana Senator Calls For Decriminalization

“State Sen. Brent Steele, who’s played a critical role in criminal justice issues as chair of the Senate corrections committee, said the state’s marijuana possession laws are too harsh. Indiana law dictates that marijuana possession is a felony unless it’s a first-time offense and the amount is less than 1 ounce.

“We have to ask ourselves as a society, do we really want to be locking people up for having a couple of joints in their pocket?” Steele said. “Is that how we want to be spending our criminal justice resources?”

    i think it should be decrimnalized becase i have back pain and its help so much and help with my depresstion and anxitey and i dont think a person should be incarsrated for smoke a joint when there is biger fish to fry

    The amount of wasted tax dollars spent house an prosecute non violent person for an all natural plant is ludicrous. People are getting tired of tax hikes just if the decriminalizing especially for medical use the state will b making money from the taxing of license an caregiver permits.Indiana will b the last to get into the next economic boom.unlimited products that are made from the plants.
